Terms of Service
Last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Service Description
Rsscheck is a feed diagnostic tool. It accepts a feed URL submitted by a user, fetches the feed server-side, parses it as an RSS or Atom reader would, and returns a structured report of what was found, including any defects that would prevent a reader from processing the feed correctly.
The service has no user accounts, no data storage, no scheduled or automated checks, and no email or notification capabilities. It answers only when a user explicitly submits a URL.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Rsscheck only for its intended purpose: diagnosing RSS and Atom feeds. You may not:
- Use the service to probe, scan, or test the availability of servers or services unrelated to feed validation.
- Submit URLs with the intent to cause the server to access internal or non-public resources.
- Submit URLs that contain malicious payloads or attempt to exploit the service.
- Automate submissions at a rate that would degrade the service for other users.
3. Intellectual Property
The Rsscheck service, including its code, design, and brand assets, is provided as a diagnostic tool. No licence is granted to reproduce, redistribute, or resell the service or its output in a manner that competes with the service itself.
Feed content submitted for diagnosis remains the property of its respective owners. Rsscheck does not claim any ownership over the feeds you submit or the diagnostic results generated from them.
4. No Warranties
Rsscheck is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The diagnostic output reflects the service’s parsing of the feed at the moment it was fetched. Different readers may interpret the same feed differently. The service does not guarantee that a feed passing all checks will be accepted by any particular reader or directory.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Rsscheck shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the use of or inability to use the service.
6. No Accounts or Data Storage
Rsscheck does not create user accounts, maintain user profiles, or store submitted data beyond the duration of a single request. There is no persistent storage of feed URLs, feed content, or diagnostic results on the server. Each interaction is stateless and ephemeral.
7. Governing Law
No governing law or jurisdiction is specified for these terms because the operator has not yet registered a legal entity or established a jurisdiction of operation. Once a legal entity is registered, the operator shall update these terms to specify the applicable governing law and jurisdiction.
8. Billing and Payments
Note: Rsscheck does not yet have a connected payment processor. Until one is connected, no real payments can be taken. The checkout form on the pricing page is a demonstration only.
8.1 Plans and Pricing
The Starter plan is free and requires no payment or account. The Pro plan is priced at $9 per month (or such other amount as stated on the pricing page at the time of subscription) and is available once a payment processor has been connected and Pro features have been launched.
8.2 Billing Period
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. The first charge occurs at the time of subscription. Each subsequent charge occurs on the same calendar day of the following month. If the renewal day does not exist in a given month (e.g. the 31st), billing occurs on the last day of that month.
8.3 Failed Payments
If a payment attempt fails (card declined, expired, or insufficient funds), the payment processor will automatically retry the charge after 3 days, and again after a further 7 days if the first retry also fails. If all attempts fail within 14 days of the original due date, access to Pro features will be suspended. The subscription is cancelled if payment is not successfully collected within 30 days of the original due date.
8.4 Refund Policy
All charges are non-refundable except in the case of a billing error on our part or as required by applicable consumer law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 14 days of the charge date. There are no partial refunds or credits for partial months of service. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further charges will be made.
8.5 Price Changes
We may change prices for Pro subscriptions with 30 days’ notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use of Pro after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
8.6 No Payment Processor Connected
As of the Last updated date, Rsscheck does not have a connected payment processor and cannot accept real payments. The Pro plan and its associated pricing are aspirational and will become operational only when a payment processor is connected. You will not be charged until that time.
9. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated as the service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
